Despite being banned from the track for the remainder of the year, Mother Nature snuck into the Mason City Motor Speedway on Monday and forced officials to cancel the Memorial Day event.

Racing will return to the Mason City Motor Speedway on Sunday, June 5, with the USRA Weekly Racing Series featuring USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks and Rookies Rockin’ Tuners.

Adult spectator admission is just $10. Juniors ages 13-16 and seniors 65 and older get in for $8. Kids 12 and under are free. Pits passes are $25.

The pit gate opens at 4 p.m., spectator gate opens at 5, drivers meeting is set for 6, hot laps begin at 6:30 and the first green flag waves at 7 p.m.

USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods will race for $500 to win and the USRA Hobby Stock winner will pocket $400. The Rookies Rockin' Tuners pay $200 to win.

Those who purchased tickets Monday can use them for admission to the next event on Sunday, June 5. Pit passes from Monday may be used at either of the next two Sunday events, June 5 or June 12.

The Mason City Motor Speedway is a half-mile clay oval located 5.1 miles east of I-35 at exit 194 on SR 122 (at the North Iowa Fairgrounds).
