Huge week on tap for North Iowa Fair presented by Farmers State Bank, July 20-24

The schedule for the 2016 North Iowa Fair presented by Farmers State Bank is finalized and features an exciting lineup of marquee events for fans and competitors alike.

Farmers State Bank of Mason City/Clear Lake and surrounding communities has come on board as the title sponsor for the entire fair week of grandstand events, July 20-24.

"We've put together a really good schedule for the grandstand events during the North Iowa Fair," promoter Al Hejna said. "With the help of Farmers State Bank, we will be able to bring in six events in five days during fair week."

The North Iowa Fair presented by Farmers State Bank of Mason City/Clear Lake will kick things off on Wednesday, July 20, with the Meyer Motorsports Figure 8 Series returning for the third straight year. The Rookies Rockin' Sports Bar Tuners (formerly Sport Compacts) will also battle in a special event paying $1,000 to win.

On Thursday and Friday, July 21-22, the Monster Truck Racing League come to town and officials are readying for a capacity crowd for this high-energy show. Highlighting the event will be "The Original Monster Truck" BIGFOOT and the extremely popular Bounty Hunter, along with several other incredible Monster Trucks.

Also on the card for these nights is a motorcycle stunt show as well as Tough Trucks and Quads racing between rounds of Monster Truck action.

On Saturday, July 23, there will be a tractor pull put on by McIntire Pullers beginning at 12 noon, and when this show is done officials will get the track ready for an extreme demolition derby featuring full-sized vehicles, compacts and trucks. This show will start at 7 p.m.

To finish the week on Sunday, July 24, it will be a special Sunday night racing program with the Ted Zieman Memorial. Zieman was one of Mason City Motor Speedway's first racing icons, and the event is co-sponsored by one of his long-time sponsors, Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer distributed by United Beverage of Mason City.

The track will host a Test & Tune day for drivers in all divisions on Sunday, May 1, from 4-7 p.m.

Opening night is slated for Sunday, May 15, and will feature Budweiser USRA Modifieds, Holley USRA Stock Cars, Out-Pace USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks and Rookies Rockin’ Sports Bar Tuners. The pit gate opens at 4 p.m., spectator gate opens at 5, hot laps begin at 6:30 and the first green flag waves at 7 p.m.

Adults grandstand tickets are just $10, juniors ages 13-16 and seniors 65 and older get in for $8. Kids 12 and under are admitted free of charge. Pit passes will be $25.
